Lloyd Joseph Grillot of Gautier, MS.passed away on Wednesday, July 25,2018 in Ocean Springs MS.at the age of 95. Lloyd was born one of nine children on January 22,1923 in Patterson Township, Ohio.
Over the course of 95 years several things remained consistent, his love of God,his love of family and friends, and his love of horse racing. He was a faithful member of Martin Bluff Baptist Church and it was understood that Sunday was a day reserved for going to the Lords House. He enjoyed the beauty of horses and their ability to run and win. He could be labeled stubborn but in reality the truth was that when he formed an opinion he just held firm and could not be swayed. Lloyd was a kind hearted man with a love for people, he never met a stranger and if he thought you were in need he would do what he could to help. This wonderful father and Grandpa will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Elizabeth Grillot; his wife of 64 years Vivian; three sons, Larry Grillot, Jerry Grillot, and Terry Grillot; 8 siblings and his son-in-law, James Baker.
He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Baker of Gautier, MS; grandchildren, Angela Bynum of Gautier, Marian Trehern (Tim) of Pascagoula, Sheryl Baker of Gautier, Shelley Johnson (Adam) of Gautier, James Baker (Katrina) of Vancleave, Amy Ryder (John) of Ohio, Alan Bakken(Sheila) of Florida, Lisa Grillot of Arizona and Tina Vandevoort of Minnesota; 11 great grandchildren including locally Jared and Taylor Bynum, Kelcey Bynum-Hall (Zac), Kayla Trehern and Andrew and Asa Johnson and 7 great-great grandchildren including locally Emily Fayard and Rory Hall.
There will be a memorial service at Martin Bluff Baptist Church on August 4th at 2:00 p.m. and Lloyd will be laid to rest in Phoenix Memorial Park (Phoenix, Az.) beside the love of his life, Vivian.
