Emily "Peggy" S. Saliba
July 11, 1942 - June 30, 2018

Emily S. “Peggy” Saliba of Pascagoula passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018. She was born July 11, 1942 in Hattiesburg, MS and graduated in 1960 from Pascagoula High School. She graduated in 1964 from Mississippi College. Peggy dedicated her life to education as an elementary teacher and librarian for 40 years both in the Pascagoula School System and for the United States Department of Defense. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Pascagoula beginning in childhood. She served in many ways to help further the cause of Christ through its church programs. Peggy was currently attending First United Methodist Church in Pascagoula. She was also a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Educational Society, the Mississippi Baptist Historical Commission, and the Mississippi College Alumni Board for many years, often serving as President. She received the Order of the Golden Arrow at Mississippi College, their highest alumni award. Family and friends are aware of her desire to know our background. Her love for the study of genealogy led her to findings which enriched all our lives.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, Charles A. Saliba and Irene Myers Saliba. She is survived by her sister and lifelong best friend, Patsy Saliba Holzborn, of Pascagoula; her aunts, Mrs. Frances Myers, of New Hebron and Mrs. Coyce Myers Williamson of Oakvale, MS; cousins, other family members and great friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 3, 2018, 10:00am until 12:00 noon at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula. Funeral Service will follow at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Eddie Kirby officiating. Interment will be at Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Mississippi College Doc Quick Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 4027, Clinton, MS 39056.
